Agricultural/Biological Systems/Civil Engineer

Waterborne Environmental, Inc. has an opening for an engineer to join our Modeling/Engineering Group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply knowledge of hydrologic processes and chemical transport to solve practical problems related to agriculture and crop protection. We are a progressive company of bright motivated scientists and engineers looking for valuable additions to our team.

The successful candidate will have three to five years experience and be able to establish the following:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. from an accredited engineering curriculum in Agricultural, Biosystems, or Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrate with job or classroom experience an ability to independently synthesize complex data into information for presentation.
  • Expert level skills with spreadsheets, MS Word, and the general Windows environment.
  • Proficient with GIS, relational databases, and a programming language (Visual Basic or FORTRAN preferable).
  • Exposure to discipline specific software (USLE, SCS Curve number based, Hydrus, SWAT, HEC-series, etc.). Exact models not important but exposure to concepts and data handling is critical.
  • Exposure or interests in practical field experimentation and data collecting, mechanically inclined, and comfortable with basic electrical engineering theory.
  • Exposure to US agriculture with an understanding of general agricultural processes, crops, markets, and soil/water concerns.
