Higher Tier Exposure assessment

Many regulatory agencies (including those in the US, EU, and Japan) have developed standard methods and scenarios for conducting risk assessments. Unacceptable estimates of risk using these methods do not necessarily mean that a chemical will pose adverse effects on human health or the environment because of the level of simplicity and conservativeness that is built into screening methods. We are frequently asked to provide a more accurate estimate of exposure, which may involve characterizing the real world, using more sophisticated approaches, or field monitoring to address variability and uncertainty in chemical fate and transport processes.

Risk Assessment Tiers

Waterborne staff are familiar with the intricacies and complexities of Tier 1 to 4 modeling. Over the years we have developed efficient procedures to address registrant concerns with respect to higher tier modeling. We are well placed to address Tier 3 and Tier 4 issues and provide the information needed for product registration or reregistration.
