The distribution, sale, and use of crop protection chemicals in the United States is governed by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). FIFRA requires that all agrochemicals must be registered and specifies the registration process. Learn more about FIFRA
We provide FIFRA registration support, data compilation, consultation on the risk of agrochemicals to the environment within FIFRA's framework, and risk assessment studies associated with registration or re-registration of agrochemicals.
We stay current with the USEPA’s evolving guidelines and maintain excellent working relationships with regulators. Our understanding of the limitations in existing procedures allows us to recommend more accurate, refined data for registration.
Waterborne also collaborates with regulatory agencies and industry alike to refine modeling scenario and field studies. Our staff were a part of the Ecological Committee on FIFRA Risk Assessment Methods (ECOFRAM) that was formed at the recommendation of the USEPA's Science Advisory Panel. ECOFRAM developed methods and procedures for conducting probabilistic estimates of exposure and effects for risk assessments. As part of this committee, we developed RADAR to characterize exposure events for effects analysis.
