Data Research and Acquisition

The ability to research, locate, and acquire data in a timely manner is critical to project success. Although the quantity of data available from government, private, and academic sources continues to grow exponentially, many people find it increasingly difficult to find the data they need.

Waterborne has successfully researched and acquired spatial data on five continents and in over 20 countries. When very detailed or specific data are needed from abroad, communication at a local or regional level may be required and using the local language greatly facilitates the process. Our staff members' ability to effectively communicate in other languages such as Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi allows us to contact and develop working relationships with data providers throughout the world.
