Geospatial Data Development

Maps, models, graphs, and production systems are all driven by data—often geospatial data. Waterborne uses an extensive network of partners and contacts to collect, process, and load into a single unified database the geospatial information you need. We provide custom data development, standardization, documentation, and hosting services.

Data

Solutions to environmental problems require information from many areas. Waterborne is skilled at accessing the most current and relevant data sources from public and private sources, then bringing these together, either as part of a larger project, or as a stand-alone deliverable. We also have the scientific background and experience to pull together disparate datasets and turn them into useful information to help solve real world problems. For example, Waterborne developed an extensive geospatial database for the Geo-Spatial Tools and Access (GeoSTAC) program.

Metadata

Understanding the source, content, accuracy, appropriate use, and processing steps of geospatial data is critical for proper application to any analysis. "Metadata" is the term used for this description of the data. All data development services provided by Waterborne include full metadata documentation, ensuring transparency in the source and processing of these data. These metadata conform to Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines.
