FOUNDED IN SOUND SCIENCE

Waterborne was established by Patrick (Pat) W. Holden and W. Martin (Marty) Williams  in 1993 with the vision to provide superior consulting services in the areas of environmental science and water resources management,  The company has grown significantly from its original size and boasts a stable staff of highly experienced scientists and engineers.  The company now provides global service in the areas of ecological risk assessment, field studies and data collection, environmental modeling, ecotoxicology and toxicology support, geospatial analysis and data analysis in a variety of business sectors.

INNOVATION, GROWTH AND SUSTAINABILITY

Waterborne was bolstered by its founders’ extensive knowledge in agriculture, water resources, and sustainability and got its start in the heavily regulated area of agro-chemical risk assessment. Building on core services, the company has steadily grown their specialized knowledge about chemical transport, environmental risk, and stewardship to span other markets—such as personal care products, pharmaceuticals and industrial and specialty chemicals.  Our intimate knowledge of regulatory procedures and our reputation as unbiased scientists allows us to anticipate how product registration applications will be received and negotiate accordingly between clients and regulatory agencies.

LEADERSHIP AND THE FUTURE

2016 and 2017 brought a wave of leadership changes to Waterborne. Co-founder, Pat Holden, who served as President through 2010, retired May 1, 2017, at the beginning of the company’s 25th year [see news article >>]. In 2016 Waterborne’s Board of Directors appointed Matt Kern to the Chief Executive Officer role on February 22, 2017. Matt is also succeeding Marty Williams, who served as President since 2011. Marty assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, with Pat Holden continuing to serve on the Board. Pat and Marty worked hard to create a company that values its employees, “Waterborne’s most valuable resource”.  As stated in the company vision statement, “Waterborne is committed to remaining flexible in business growth and diversification and evolve as opportunities arise to meet the experiences and interests of the team”. The company looks forward to many more prosperous years!
