The theme for the 40th annual SETAC North America Meeting is Great Together: Separate Challenges and Collective Solutions. This meeting will emphasize the need for environmental scientists and managers from all sectors (e.g., academia, business, government, non-profit, non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations) to work together at a global scale to address shared environmental challenges. Under such a paradigm, discrete technical advances would be leveraged to create harmonized approaches towards mutual solutions. The meeting offers opportunities to focus on transboundary issues within a holistic system approach.

ACS organizes two national meetings & expositions each year, and each one attracts an estimated 11,000 to 13,000 chemists, chemical engineers, academicians, graduate and undergraduate students, and other related professionals. During the meeting, scientists present new multidisciplinary research, hear the latest information in their areas of professional interest, and network with colleagues. Programming is planned by 33 technical divisions that cover all scientific fields, secretariats that focus on multidisciplinary programming, and ACS committees. The meeting will feature more than 7,000 presentations organized into technical symposia that highlight important research advances and exhibitors showcasing new technological developments.

SETAC Helsinki – SETAC Europe 29th Annual Meeting

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Dates: May 26-30, 2019

SETAC Helsinki is a 5-day event featuring a variety of training, networking and learning opportunities. Between 2,000 and 2,500 scientists, assessors, regulators and managers from academia, business and government, representing an average of 60 countries, provides a unique networking opportunity and a chance for cross-collaboration long after the closing session.

IUPAC International Congress

Location: Ghent, Belgium

Dates: May 19-24, 2019

At the IUPAC International Congress, crop health experts share their expertise and discuss emerging issues of global significance in agriculture. For the first time, the 14th International IUPAC conference on Crop Protection will be a conjoined event with the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) and the International Symposium of Crop Protection (ISCP). The theme of this year’s conference will be “Crop Protection: Education of the Future Generation”.

Dr. Gerco Hoogeweg from Waterborne has been specially invited to participate in the Spatially Distribution Leaching Modeling workshop following the IUPAC conference on May 24, 2019.
